Route description

The main direction starts beside Akhun Tower’s exterior, crosses woodland and reaches the upper Agura Gorge side. It then passes Agura’s cascade area and Devil’s Pool before ending near the lower entrance area. Examine the tower’s limestone form only from permitted outside ground: interior and top access are closed for reconstruction. In the gorge, attention shifts to waterfall steps and the rocky pool, while the middle cascade remains invisible from the path. Short side portions and a separate upper portion also belong to this version, without a ready combined circuit. Akhun territory and its closed tower have different statuses; the Agura ecological path is closed, with an additional published weather closure until favourable conditions. Present through passage is unconfirmed, and upper arrival/lower departure need separate arrangements.

Route suitability

Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data Agree upper Akhun arrival and lower gorge departure separately. Children need experience on a longer rocky path. Walking is specified in the primary gorge passport; a stroller is unsuitable. Dogs and bicycles are prohibited at recreational objects. Present complete passage and continuous reception are unestablished.

Nearby

Eagle Rocks and Prometheus require their own upper branch and permission check. Akhunskaya Cave lies near the woodland portion, without a confirmed equipped ordinary visit. Devil’s Hole beside the pool is inaccessible. A ticket or open mountain territory does not authorize entry into the tower.

Getting there

Show on map

Difficult sections and safety

Elevation gain
Confirm permitted outside ground at the reconstruction site and removal of the gorge weather restriction before starting. Avoid barriers and closed paths. Uneven woodland ground, wet limestone and cascade steps demand careful footing. Do not connect separate short portions directly across slopes. Avoid cave entry or approaches to the invisible middle fall.

How much time to allow

Time for the route | Unestablished With stops | Unestablished Complete through permission and connections to separate short portions are unconfirmed. The ordinary radial Agura excursion plan does not apply. Allow separately for upper transfer, permitted woodland passage, natural stops, lower departure and vehicle retrieval where needed.

Best time to go

Choose settled weather and dry ground after restrictions are confirmed removed. Rain can quickly raise water and make woodland/rocky ground slippery. Postpone in strong wind. Drought partly or completely dries waterfalls; check present flow separately.

What to bring
