Route description

Kojonsaari is the destination of an extended approach from Lumivaara. The boat passes the western side of Kukhka and the shores of Myukrimyuksensaari Peninsula. Narrow passages gradually give way to more exposed water, with a permitted Kojonsaari shore offering a place to end the stage. Arriving from the lake lets you see the island before choosing a separate walk. The programme also contains a second approach from western Kukhka. It rounds the southern islands, passes Lauvatsaari and likewise ends near Kojonsaari. The two approaches do not form a complete circuit back to Lumivaara. Choose the required version, arrange arrival at its beginning and agree your departure from the island. Return paddling or shore transport needs a separate plan.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - With caution By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data These sustained boat approaches suit a prepared group. Children need boat experience and a practical option to end a stage early. Agree animal transport with the rental provider; a lead is required ashore.

Nearby

Kojonsaari beaches and walking paths require a separate permitted landing. Purtonmyaki and other hills near the departure are on land and outside the paddling approach. Leave island exploration for after the stage ending.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 10 h 54 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Treat the selected approach as a multi-day programme with weather allowance and authorised stops. The day-by-day schedule and combined duration of both versions are unconfirmed. Arriving at Kojonsaari is not halfway round a ready-made circuit: organise the return separately.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The snow-free open-water season makes a shore pause easier to combine with paddling. Choose a particularly calm forecast for the longer southern approach. Confirm rental operation and landing arrangements during colder months.
