Route description

This outing from Lumivaara explores northern and eastern Kukhka. The setting changes between island shores: narrow passages bring the forest close, while eastern bays open towards Lake Ladoga. Lammasaari and Loukiosaari help distinguish the places by particular islands rather than similar granite shores. The principal passage returns to the IYOKI water departure. A separate southern branch leaves eastern Kukhka, rounds the southern island shores and heads towards Kyarpyasensaari. Agree how this additional paddling stage fits the main programme; it does not finish at the base. Choose the eastern bays according to the wind forecast. An attractive shoreline does not guarantee calm landing conditions.
