Route description

Bersu leads towards the Tegermetch valley across a saddle in the northern spurs of Kichik-Alay. The ascent draws attention to the line of the pass, followed by the approach to a river gorge. Experienced walkers can enjoy this local mountain connection and the way the neighbouring valleys change direction beyond the divide. The Tegermetch becomes the natural landmark for planning the next part of a longer journey. Pause to consider water conditions and the route ahead. Continuing upstream or downstream needs its own plan: reaching the river does not finish the wider network of mountain crossings.
