Route description

Dastar-Ata is a short pass crossing from the Tegermetch valley to the neighbouring river. From the saddle you can look back into the Tegermetch and see where the next part of the journey leads. A winding descent then reaches the water, making this small section a vivid introduction to the side valleys of Kichik-Alay. Take the ascent steadily and leave time to pause at the pass. The reason mountain paths seek out saddles becomes clear here: a brief crossing reveals another river valley. Before descending, confirm the water crossing and your onward plan.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 2 h 18 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow roughly 2–3 hours for the pass section itself, including a saddle stop and a careful descent. The overall day depends on reaching the start, a safe river crossing and the onward exit, each planned separately.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The summer season with a dry path and checked river conditions. Start before the strongest heat. Rain can make the descent slippery, and high water may require a different plan.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy footwear and poles for the descent.
Drinking water carried before the pass, a sun hat and light sun protection.
Waterproof clothing, an offline map and a headlamp; a longer trek needs its own food and overnight equipment.
